State fair goers think Hawkeyes will have best season

According to the results of a poll held at the Iowa State Fair on Monday, the Iowa Hawkeyes will have the best season of all the college football teams in the state.

Secretary of State Paul Pate has been holding a daily fun poll everyday along with the Presidential Straw Poll.

On Monday, the poll question was, "Which In-State College Football Team Will Have the Best 2015 Season”?

According to results released today, 37.81% of the 960 votes that were cast were for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Iowa State got 30.63%, the University of Northern Iowa got 21.25%, Drake got 3.44% and 6.88% of the votes went to other schools.

The Hawkeyes open the season on September 5 at Kinnick Stadium against Illinois State.

Iowa State opens the season on the same day hosting UNI.

Drake travels to Liberty, Missouri for a September 5 game against William-Jewell.
