UPDATE: Video captures funnel cloud near Stanwood

OLIN (KWWL) -

A funnel cloud came low near Stanwood and Olin on Tuesday afternoon, causing minor damage.

Dan Gottschalk with the Iowa Weather Network posted this video on Tuesday afternoon showing a funnel cloud about to touch down north-northwest of Stanwood, in Jones County, around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Iowa Weather Network also reported Olin's emergency manager said tree limbs were down in town.

The National Weather Service has not confirmed if a tornado did indeed touch down on Tuesday in Jones County.

A tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Tuesday for the eastern portion of the KWWL viewing area.

Showers and storms will continue to track across the state today.

Heavy rain and dangerous lightning will be the main threats, but an isolated severe storm could produce damaging winds.

Rain amounts over one inch will be possible.

The winds will pick up tonight as a low pressure system tracks northeast.

Cool, windy, fall-like weather will settle in for Wednesday with lingering showers possible.
