UPDATE: Arrest made in deadly Waterloo shooting

Posted: Updated:

A man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of another man in Waterloo.

The shooting happened outside a home on Locust Street on Friday night around 7:30 p.m.

Waterloo Police say a 43-year-old man was shot and killed. His name has not been released.

Police say 37-year-old Steve William Fordyce, Jr., from Denver, Iowa, was arrested in the case.

Investigators say no one else was hurt and no more arrests are expected right now.

Officers also say people have been cooperating with them in their investigation. That's been an issue in other shooting investigations in the city recently.
