Truck rolls, spills pesticide

FLOYD COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Floyd County Sheriff's Office says a truck owned by a Parkersburg spraying service rolled over this morning and spilled pesticide.

Deputies were called to the 1800 block of Jersey Avenue at around 11:48 a.m. Friday.

Deputies say the truck, which had just been used to refuel a crop dusting helicopter, rolled on it's side after the driver, 25-year-old Travis Shirley of Winnsboro, Louisiana, became distracted and drove too close to the edge of the road.

Deputies say some pesticide and possibly aviation fuel leaked from the truck.

The truck is owned by Klinkenborg Aerial Spraying Service.

Shirley was not injured.
