CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Cedar Rapids man will spend nearly six years in federal prison for being a convicted domestic abuser and having a gun.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa says 22-year-old Anthony Duane Lesain, Jr. pleaded guilty on May 11 to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person and was sentenced today to 5 years and 11 months in federal prison.

Court records show Lesain admitted to possessing a loaded .22 short caliber revolver.

Lesain was previously convicted of assault causing bodily injury and assault impeding air flow.
