GALENA, Ill. (KWWL) -

A semi-tractor trailer rollover caused officials to close part of U.S. Highway 20 in Galena this morning.

Police say they got the call around 8 a.m. to a one vehicle rollover.  They say a semi, traveling west into Galena, hit one curb, over-corrected and eventually rolled over.

The driver had to be helped out of the car and was taken to the hospital with what police say are non-life threatening injuries.

The Highway reopened about four hours after it was shut down.

Dave Anderson owns Stillman Inn, which is right next to where the semi rolled over.  He said it was an unusual way to start his day.

"We came running out and it was on his side," he said. "Pretty scary, we've never seen anything like that. We've owned the place for 15 years, and not that kind of excitement are we looking for."

He said there were people on the scene almost immediately trying to help, including one man that wasn't from the area.

"He was on top of the truck, so the truck was sideways like this, and he was trying to pry the truck open, but it was locked from the inside," Anderson said.

Police are still investigating the cause of the rollover.
