6-year-old airlifted after Floyd Co. farm accident

A farm accident in Floyd County has resulted in a six-year-old being airlifted to Rochester, Minn.

Floyd County Sheriff's Office responded at 10:44 a.m. Thursday to a farm accident in the 300 block of 220th Street just south of Colwell.

A Mennonite family was baling hay when the load shifted and knocked a six-year-old boy off. He was then run over by the wagon, according to the sheriff's office.

The boy was treated at the scene by AMR ambulance, Colwell Fire and First Responders.

The child was then airlifted from the scene and taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
