CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Signature Care Centers, LLC, and its seven related nursing facilities have agreed to pay thousands of dollars to resolve civil allegations. The total amount they agreed to pay is $415,044.46.

The civil allegations were that the facility submitted inaccurate cost reports for Medicaid payments for the 2008 and 2010 fiscal years. As part of the investigation, the government did not allege any patient harm or jeopardy to patients’ conditions, and there was no admission of liability or wrongdoing as part of the settlement.

The investigation was jointly pursued by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern and Northern Districts of Iowa. Of the total amount that was recovered, around $231,000 was associated with the facilities in the Southern District while the remaining $184,000 was associated with the facilities in the Northern District of Iowa.
