DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Meet 12-year old Aidan Ottavi -- he's a fascinating kid with a deep knowledge of all things Titanic.

"She hit the iceberg here and went lower, and she sinked higher and higher and crack! We know why she broke in half," said Aidan.

It all began during the second grade, when he brought home a book about the ship. Ever since  -- he's been captivated by the story.

"I think when we would read about all the victims especially when you went from the percentages third class that didn't make it, second class, first class, that really kind of just tugged at his heart," said his mother Patty Reisen-Ottavi.

You can see Aidan's passion as he talks about the iceberg.  "And the light flickered...and the night ship plunged into the darkness," he said.

Of course, one of Aidan's favorite things is visiting the Titanic exhibit at the National Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque.

Managers at the museum say the exhibit is very popular, they've decided to extend it into October 11th.

So far -- 50,000 people have visited the Titanic exhibit.  As for Aidan, he's already been to the Titanic exhibit about five times -- even in Orlando.

Managers at the museum say the exhibit has increased attendance.  Last year, they saw about 160,000 visitors. this year they're expecting more than 200,000.
