North Fayette Valley preparing for another big year.

Posted: Updated:

The goal in West Union this year is win back to back state titles. North Fayette Valley is coming off a Class 2-
A state title --

Gone is the one-two punch of Josh Mackey and Derrick Kuehner -- the two backs combined for nearly 2-thousand rushing yards --

Trevor Hurd -- however -- returns as signal caller.

Plus Juan Harris -- the Hawkeye line recruit who saw action in just 2 playoff games last year -- is back for his junior season --

And the Tigerhawks believe they have the tools to make another run --

Trevor Hurd | North Fayette Valley Quarterback says "We've got a lot of talent. It's just going to come down to everybody getting used to playing together, because last year we had 7 or 8 kids who were starting for their third year. That doesn't leave a lot of room for other kids to play, so that's the biggest thing is just getting experience under their belt I think."

Bob Lape | North Fayette Valley Head Coach said, "We've got a confident bunch of guys. They've had a lot of success over the years and they're confident, but they also understand that things don't just happen. You have to work and you have to be lucky and everything has to go your way in order to win a state championship.

North Fayette Valley opens at Decorah on August 28th --
