GRANT COUNTY, Wis. (KWWL) -

A man was hospitalized after being stabbed in the chest twice in Woodman, Wisconsin.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to an address in Woodman at around 10:47 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man who was headed to the address to hurt people after leaving threatening messages.

Sheriff Nate Dreckman says that before deputies arrived, 30-year-old William Decola stabbed 43-year-old Almond Wallace twice in the chest. Wallace then drove away.

Wallace was located a short time later and taken to the hospital. He is expected to recover.

No formal charges have been made and the incident is under investigation.
