IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling team will open its season at a different venue, with plenty of room for fans... and outdoors.

A Tweet sent by the Hawkeye Wrestling team says they will host Oklahoma State at a meet at Kinnick Stadium at 11 a.m. on November 14th, the same day a home football game will happen later that night. The Tweet included a picture of the pink visitors locker room at Kinnick Stadium and said "Excited to introduce @CowboyWrestling to Hayden Fry Psychology 101 on 11.14.15".

The Hawks are looking to set an all-time attendance record with the event, named the Grapple on the Gridiron.  The attendance record is currently held by Penn State with 15,996.

The Hawkeyes and OSU Cowboys have a combined 57 national titles.  They will become the first NCAA wrestling teams to compete in a Division I football stadium in NCAA history.

The average daily high temperature for November 14th in Iowa City is 51 degrees Fahrenheit.  Last year's high temperature in Iowa City was 28 degrees.

The first 15,000 tickets sold will have reserved seating at Carver-Hawkeye Arena should the dual move indoors.   You can find more information about tickets and rest of the Hawkeye wrestling season here.

KWWL's Kristin Rogers is working on this story and will have updates following a media availability at Kinnick Stadium scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
