WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Ninth Annual Iowa Irish Fest kicks off Friday in Waterloo, turning the downtown into a sea of green.

From music, to food, to a family area at the event, people have much to look forward to this year.

With six different downtown stages, the entertainment lineup includes Gaelic Storm, the Trinity Irish Dancers, Full Set, the Screaming Orphans and more.

Fest-goers will also find new additions this year, like the first ever Iowa Irish Fest Rugby Invitational and an Irish wedding!

Families are welcome to join the fun as well, with a family stage area offering traditional music and storytelling. Food, of course, is a major attraction for Irish Fest. Fans will find an Irish Stew Cook-Off, a Soda Bread competition along with an Irish whiskey tasting.
