IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

If you're wanting to get into genealogical research, the Iowa City Public Library has announced classes.

In August, the library will begin hosting classes for those interested in starting research into their family tree.

The introductory course will start Friday, August 7, where you're able to start searching for your ancestors. A librarian will help  get started by talking about what questions to ask, how to keep track of your information, and places you might want to search.

At 10 a.m. Friday, August 29, find out how to access ICPL’s genealogy resources at Using Ancestry.com for Genealogy to help solve your family tree mysteries.

All classes are free and for adults, but space is limited.

If you're interested register online visit www.icpl.org/classes, you can also register by calling the Library at (319) 356-5200.
