Waverly-Shell Rock moves on with shut-out over Vinton-Shellsburg

DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Alex Robson allowed just 2 hits in 6 innings while Dalton Graven struck out the side to shut the door in the 7th as Waverly-Shell Rock shut out Vinton-Shellsburg 6-0 to advance to the class 3A semifinals.

The Go-Hawks collected 11 hits in the game as Graven went 3-4 at the plate, picking up 3 RBI's in the game.

W-SR opened the scoring in the second as Josh Buresh raced home on a short sacrifice fly in foul territory by Robson.. They added another in the third as Graven picked up his first hit, a line drive single to left scoring Jake Velky. The Go-Hawks never looked back after that moment.

Waverly-Shell Rock advances to play the winner of Boone/SB-L in Thursday's semifinal.
