The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office says there will be a "significant increased presence of law enforcement officers" on bike and recreational trails throughout the county after Tuesday's assault.

Campers found a woman on a bike trail at George Wyth State Park.

Police say the victim had been jogging on the trail when she was attacked from behind.

She was taken to Allen Hospital and is expected to survive.

Law enforcement shut down the park, looking for the suspect.

They did not find him, but the park did reopen Tuesday night.

The sheriff's office says it wants people to be more alert, use a buddy system on the trails and carry a cell phone if possible.
