IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa City fire crews are investigating after a fire inside a lab at the University of Iowa Chemistry Building on Friday.
Crews were called there Friday afternoon on a report that there was a fire in the lab and the sprinkler system was activated.
Employees were in the lab when the fire started, but no one was hurt.
Three fire engines, a ladder truck, a quint and the Battalion Chief responded - making for 16 firefighters at the scene. Crews say the fire was under control within about eight minutes after crews arrived, so they spent most of their time cleaning up and getting smoke out of the building.
Both the Iowa City Fire Department and the University of Iowa Public Safety are looking into the cause.
