One eastern Iowa county considers changing minimum wage

Posted: Updated:

A county in eastern Iowa is considering changing the minimum wage.

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors plans to discuss a minimum wage ordinance at its work session today. No vote will be taking place at the session, but the talk could include the rate the county might like to see.

Currently the minimum wage in Iowa is $7.25.

Other cities across the country have voted to increase the minimum wage, including Seattle, where the minimum wage will be $15 per hour in just a few years. San Francisco and Kansas City are other cities where debate over minimum wage has taken place as well.
