7th inning rally lifts AGWSR past Bellevue Marquette

The AGWSR girls scored 6 times in their final at bat to rally past Bellevue Marquette 6-5 to advance to the class 1A semifinal.

Trailing 3-0 entering the top of the 7th inning, the Cougars quickly put 2 runs on the board. With 2 outs and the game on the line Jami Johnson knocked the base hit that tied the game keeping AGWSR's hopes alive. They'd soon add 3 more to take a 6-3 edge into the bottom half of the inning.

Bellevue Marquette put a pair of runs on the board in the bottom half of the inning, but Ashley Sicard picked up a strike-out to end the threat advancing AGWSR in the state tournament.

The Cougars advance to play River Valley on Thursday.
