JANESVILLE (KWWL) -

Charges are pending against a Leland man who a woman claims kidnapped her on Monday.

Janesville Police say Jermayne Alex Clark of Leland was booked into the Bremer County Jail for violating a no-contact order. His bond was set at $500 cash.

According to Officer Glenn Beenblossom with the Janesville Police Department told KWWL he saw a car stop on Highway 218 near Janesville just before 7 a.m. Monday.

Beenblossom then said he saw a passenger exit the car and run into a cornfield.

The driver of the car, described as a woman in her 30s, told the officer the passenger was her ex-boyfriend and that he had kidnapped her. She told Beenblossom she was waiting to see the first cop before she pulled over for help.

Police later found Clark. He was not armed.

More charges are pending. The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation is also investigating.
