The toddler who fell into a pool in Andrew and was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals earlier this week has died, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

They say the Johnson County Coroner confirmed the one-and-a-half-year-old, Nxy Jones, died at UIHC on Tuesday.

A Jackson County toddler is fighting for her life after being pulled from a swimming pool Monday morning.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called after a one-and-a-half-year-old girl fell into a swimming pool shortly after 10 a.m.

Deputies say the babysitter began CPR because the girl was unresponsive after being pulled from the pool. Andrew First Responders took over as soon as they arrived on scene.

The girl, whose name has not been released, was taken to Jackson County Regional Health Center before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The name of the girl has not been released.
