DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

A group of pilots met in Dubuque to fly historic World War II planes in formation.

The North American Trainer Association is an organization founded thirty years ago by Leonard "Stoney" Stonich, a man who was a rifleman in the Marine Corps.

Some of the members of this group own their own planes and are qualified pilots, while others are not qualified but still get to fly with a qualified pilot.

Stonich says he started this club as a way to get together with people who own planes and love flying.

Although the group was grounded Thursday, you can catch them in the skies this weekend if the weather permits.
