Johnson 3 back after John Deere Classic opening round

Zach Johnson's string of rounds in the 60's is still rolling at the John Deere Classic. Johnson shot a 5 under par 66, going in the 60's for the 25th straight time in the Quad Cities. That has him sitting tied for 10th overall, 3 strokes behind leaders Nicholas Thompson and Justin Thomas.

The Cedar Rapids native opened up shooting 2 over on the front 9, and finished stronger on the back, birdying 2 of the final 3 holes. Johnson scored five birdies and zero bogeys on the round.

Meanwhile, Thursday was a tough one for U.S. Open and Masters' champion Jordan Spieth who shot even par, leaving him in a tie in the 101st position.
