LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

Two people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30 in Linn County on Thursday.

Melanii Vislisel, 71, of Cedar Rapids was taken to Mercy Hospital, and another passenger in another vehicle was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Both were transported by Mt. Vernon Ambulance and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Vislisel was eastbound on Highway 30 at the Highway 13 interchange when her GMC Acadia was struck from behind by a Ford Focus driven by Donald Sipe, 75, of Lisbon.

The collision caused both vehicles to go into the south ditch.

Sipe was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
