JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) -

Johnson County will begin accepting applications for for Community IDs on Friday, July 17. You can apply at the Johnson County Administration Building.

The cards are designed to help people who may not be able to get other forms of ID cards easily, such as seniors, the homeless, and new immigrants.

Johnson County is the first community in the Midwest to implement a community ID.

ID cards will cost $8 for adults and $4 for children.

To apply, you'll need to prove who you are and where you live. A full list of accepted documents will be posted on the Johnson County website by the 17th.
