UPDATE: Names released after serious crash in Winneshiek County

Two people were injured in a crash that shut down a highway.

It happened Wednesday on Highway 24, east of Fort Atkinson in Winneshiek County.

The Iowa State Patrol says a dump truck and SUV hit each other head on.

Suzan Farrell, a 62-year-old from Hawkeye, was flown to the hospital.

Tanner Miller, a 19-year-old from Waucoma, was also taken to the hospital.

There's no word on how they're doing.

A two-vehicle crash shut down part of a Winneshiek County highway on Wednesday.

According to Iowa State Patrol Trooper Jon Stickney, the collision between a large construction truck and another vehicle happened just after 10 a.m. on State Highway 24 about a mile east of Calmar.

The extent of injuries was not known.

The crash shut down part of the highway for several hours until just before 5 p.m., when the road reopened to traffic, according to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
