CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

If you've received a parking ticket in downtown Cedar Rapids, now's your chance to avoid the fine.

Park Cedar Rapids and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) are partnering up to host the first parking citation forgiveness blood drive.

Anyone who volunteers to donate blood at any of the Park Cedar Rapids hosted blood drives will have one citation dismissed. Some limitations apply, including meter violations where a meter didn't get paid or ran out. Only citations issued by Park Cedar Rapids enforcement can be written off. Police citations do not apply.

Blood drives will be hosted at 349 4th Avenue SE, in the MVRBC Donor Bus on the following dates:

Wednesday, July 8th - 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Tuesday, July 14th - 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Thursday, August 13th - 7:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Friday, August 21st - 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (or 16 with parental permission form available at www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. or MVRBC Donor Card is required to donate. Donors who last gave blood on or before May 13th are eligible to donate at the July 8th drive.

Monthly parkers and those without parking citations are still welcome and encouraged to participate.
