CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity is building a Pope Francis House.

The house is meant to honor Pope Francis as well as be an opportunity to Catholic and non Catholic volunteers to work together.

The ground was broken for the house in May, but the walls will be raised on Wednesday.

The home is located at 404 8th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids.

Volunteers will begin working at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Civilian Community Corps and Americorps Group will be assisting the volunteers.

An anonymous donor gave $60,000 to fund most of the home, an additional $40,000 is being raised.

Many Habitat affiliates across the country are also building Pope Francis Houses.

There will be other volunteer days to work on the Cedar Rapids home this summer.

The hope is to finish the home by the end of August.
