CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The rains came and stole 9 holes from the event, but couldn't dampen the spirits at the annual Zach Johnson Foundation Classic.

The event, shortened from 18 holes to 9 holes, still managed to draw large crowds to see the annual parade of professionals and celebrities down the fairways of Elmcrest Country Club.

The host, Zach Johnson, was joined by fellow tour pros Jason Day and Jordan Spieth, who's won both majors contested this year. Several other tour pros and celebrities played in the 5th annual event which raises money for the foundation's Kids on Course Program.

For Johnson, it also serves as a good excuse to come home.

"Any time I can be back in this town, I savor it, I relish it," said Johnson, "Anytime I can bring my family back to this town, I thoroughly enjoy it. When my foundation's based here, Transamerica, one of my sponsors, is based here, the presenting sponsor of my tournament, it just makes it all that much better."
