BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) -

Jared Evan Brooks has been placed on escape notice by the Iowa Department of Corrections.

Brooks was sentenced to 10 years for 3 counts of Willful Injury and a count of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon. His sentence began in 2013.

He was involved in a 2012 shooting which sent three people to the hospital.

Brooks was transferred to work release March 17 of this year. 

He did not return to the facility after work.
