LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says a motorcycle crash on Friday morning was caused by personal floatation devices that flew out of the back of a pickup truck.

The crash happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Highway 13 just south of Millard Lane in Central City.

Authorities say 52-year-old Crystal Baldwin of Wentzville, Missouri was headed north on Highway 13 and tried to avoid debris that flew out of the truck.

Baldwin lost control of the bike.  She was wearing a helmet but was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids by ambulance.

The sheriff's office says Baldwin appears to have non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup is 25-year-old Mitchell Sutton of Marion.  Authorities say his personal floatation devices were not secured properly in the back of his truck.  Charges are pending.
