Denver Schools just shy of passing new school bond

Posted: Updated:
DENVER (KWWL) - A few votes tipped the scales in Bremer County -- and not in the school district's favor.

Public Measure B, a general obligation bond for Denver Community Schools, needed 60 percent of yes votes to pass.

It garnered, unofficially, 59.1 percent -- meaning the measure did not pass.

A total of 825 voters said "yes" to the measure, while 570 said "no" at the polls.

Just 12 more yes votes would have passed the measure.

The unofficial results from the Bremer County Auditor's Office can be found here: http://www.co.bremer.ia.us/webres/File/Denver%20Special%20ALL%20PRECINCTS%20Unofficial%20Results.pdf
