We'll see some partly cloudy skies today with some haze in the upper parts of the atmosphere due to smoke from fires in Canada.

A disturbance will be tracking across western Iowa tomorrow and it'll bring a chance for showers, mainly south of Cedar Rapids, tomorrow.

The models are trending for dry, cool weather for the rest of the week, with just a slight chance for rain Friday.

The Fourth of July weekend is looking dry, with highs around 80.

BONUS EXPLAINER: How are wildfires hundreds of miles away affecting our sky?

Storm Track 7 Meteorologist Kyle Kiel: "The smoke from wildfires in western Canada has resulted in a 'hazy' sky across the state of Iowa.

"This is due to the smoke traveling southeast along with the jet stream winds into parts of the United States. (The jet stream winds are the high winds in the upper levels of the atmosphere that 'steers' weather systems.)

"This has given the sun a more orange or pink tint at sunrise and at sunset."
