Voters decide on school issues today

Posted: Updated:
Voters in several communities across eastern Iowa will be heading to the polls today, as big decisions have yet to be made regarding schools in the area.

In Cedar Falls, a $35 million bond issue is on the line. The school district says it needs space, and wants to expand two elementary schools and also build a new elementary school.

Last year, voters rejected a $118 million dollar bond issue.

Other communities also have votes today, including a PPEL vote in Waterloo to renew the levy.

In Denver, a referendum will be voted upon for a high school building project that includes a new gym and auditorium.

Elkader voters will decide whether to pay for a number of school projects, including security cameras, new special education classrooms, new locker rooms and a new parking lot.

Meanwhile, residents in Washington will vote in a special school election to build an early childhood center.
