CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

An Iowa man, who was a fugitive for nearly 21 years, is sentenced to more than ten years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD).  A jury found 50-year-old Matthew West, of Cedar Rapids, guilty back in 1992.

Evidence showed West received about 12,000 hits of LSD from out-of-state sources.  He then sold it to others in the Cedar Rapids area, who then redistributed it.

West was released in 1993, after being granted a new trial.  He then failed to appear fro a detention hearing in 1994, issuing a warrant for his arrest.  West turned himself in 10 years later, this past December.

He is now sentenced to 121 months in prison and must pay a $6,000 fine.  He is being held in the United States Marshal's custody until he can be sent to prison.
