IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Johnson County is preparing to celebrate the end of slavery.

The Johnson County Juneteenth Community Committee will host a day of events Saturday, June 27 at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center in Iowa City to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the end of slavery in the United States. 

The event includes displays, food, live music, games and more.

This is the fifth time the groups has hosted a Juneteenth event.

The event is free.

It runs from noon - 6 p.m.
