UPDATE: Storms, floods hitting eastern Iowa

Posted: Updated:

A line of storms are tracking east across the area this morning, mainly in our northern counties. These storms have the potential to create very strong winds, small hail, dangerous lightning and heavy rain. Winds in excess of 60 mph are possible. Expect damage to trees, roofs and siding due to these strong storms. They are tracking fast and should be moved out of the area before noon.

If these morning storms move out fast enough, another round of severe weather will be possible this afternoon.

When they develop, it will be fast. And they will be strong. At the time of formation, they have the potential for hail, wind and tornadoes with hail and damaging winds taking over as the main threats within a couple of hours of formation. We will continue to monitor Monday and keep you updated on the latest.
