Sigourney man killed in Iowa County crash

IOWA COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Sigourney man was killed when the SUV he was a passenger in was hit by a truck that failed to stop at a stop sign.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Office says an SUV driven by 64-year-old Patricia Ann Grover of Sigourney was headed north on D Avenue at around 9:18 a.m. Thursday when a truck driven by 56-year-old Steven Richard Raymie of Winterset, which was headed west on 325th Street, ran the stop sign at the intersection and crashed into Grover's SUV.

Patricia was taken by ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City with minor injuries. Her husband, Thomas who was in the front passenger seat, was flown to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics where he later died from his injuries.

Raymie was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.
