WAVERLY (KWWL) - Music fans from far and wide will be flooding an eastern Iowa city this weekend.

Waverly is just one of four cities in the nation that will host the "Gentlemen of the Road Tour," with headlining band Mumford and Sons.

Most activities will take place around Wartburg College and downtown Waverly. Concert goers will be able to see their favorite band and they will have an opportunity to camp in the college's cross country course.

This event is suppose to bring in thousands of people and potentially double -- maybe triple -- the size of the town.

"There's not a template for doing this," said Graham Garner, Vice President for Marketing and Communication at Wartburg College. "I mean, there's been not quite a dozen towns that have done this before, the Gentleman of the Road festival, and each one is different. Each one learns from those who went before them."

Just recently, the two-day festival grew with an extra concert Thursday night on Bremer Avenue. That means about three blocks of town will be shut down.

To keep everything under control, the Waverly Police Department says they'll have some 75 extra law enforcement officials from 14 different agencies patrolling the festival throughout the weekend.
