DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque's Multicultural Family Center will host the 6th annual Dubuque Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 20.

It's at Comisky Park and is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the U.S.  It's a celebration of freedom and the achievement of African-Americans.

Dubuque's celebration is free and will feature music by DJ Mishereen Ellis, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, children's activities, community resource booths and refreshments.  Those refreshments include Sugar Ray's BBQ and more.  Children's activities include water balloon toss, bounce house and face painting.

To donate, volunteer or for more information, please contact the MFC by calling 563-582-3681 or email info@mfcdbq.org.
