WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Former Waterloo Mayor Tim Hurley has announced he will seek the seat again.

Hurley served three terms as mayor before retiring in 2010. Before that, he served on the city council and as a trustee of Waterloo Water Works.

Hurley says if he's elected he will work on improvements to city financial health, economic development, delivery of services, and the city's image.

“I think Waterloo needs a strong, experienced and proven advocate in the mayor's office right now, and I believe my track record speaks for itself on that matter,” Hurley said in a news release.

Hurley has been active in the community, serving on several boards since he retired as mayor.

Hurley worked for John Deere for 37 years. He and his wife Kathy McCoy have three children and nine grandchildren.

Quentin Hart, Frank Magsamen, and Leah Morrison have also announced they'll run for mayor.
