WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A two-time convicted felon is sentenced for possession of a firearm and ammunition.  23-year-old Deshawn Brown, of Waterloo, pleaded guilty to the felony charge on March 2.

He admitted to possessing a pistol and .40 caliber ammunition on Halloween in 2014.  He fired several shots near the 1200 block of Willow St. in retaliation to a prior drive-by shooting at his home.

Police attempted to pull him over, but he did not stop and eventually crashed into his garage.  Brown was previously convicted of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

He must also serve a three-year supervised release after his prison term.
