Cat food recalled for too much vitamin D

If you own a cat, there's a nationwide cat food recall you need to be aware of.

Five varieties of Rachael Ray Nutrish Wet Cat Food are being recalled due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D.

Vitamin D is important in regulating calcium and phosphorus in a cat's body but when ingested at very high levels, it can lead to serious health issues.

To date, there are 11 reports of illness associated with these products.

Two variety packs that contain some of the recalled products are also being recalled.

Any cat experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, increased thirst and urination, muscle tremors or seizures should be taken to a veterinarian immediately.
