CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

Several children had to be taken to the hospital after a police pursuit ended in a crash.

Iowa State Patrol says a driver fleeing from police hit a family's minivan around noon Thursday.

It happened at the corner of Coral Ridge Avenue and Commerce Drive in Coralville.

"The vehicle that got hit actually had an an adult and a couple children in it, but everybody is OK, just more shaken up than anything," said Bob Conrad with the Iowa State Patrol.

The chase began in Cedar County and ended near the Coralville Mall when the suspect took an exit and crashed into the family's minivan.

The suspect, New London woman Jammie Castillo, was not injured.

Patrol officers say she broke some laws that led to her being pulled over in the first place.

Castillo ran away from the scene following the accident, but was shortly after tracked down.
