IOWA CITY (KWWL) - A trail of food led police to arrest an Iowa City man accused of burglary.

Police were responding to a burglary in progress at Creekside Market in Iowa City around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

According to a criminal complaint, they found the suspect, Francisco Munoz, walking away from the store carrying two cases of beer.

His shirt was covered in nacho cheese. There was also a trail of snack foods and lottery tickets between Munoz and the store.

The complaint also said he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, poor balance and smelled of alcohol.

A post-arrest breath test results showed Munoz had a blood-alcohol content of 0.27 percent.

He now faces a burglary charge.
