DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Two children are safe after being found at a Des Moines hotel with their babysitter, who was arrested.

An Amber Alert was issued around 3 a.m. Monday for 2-year-old Rhea Day and 4-year-old Reed Day.

Authorities say their babysitter, 21-year-old Allison Tucker, picked up the kids in Jefferson on Sunday to spend the day in Des Moines.

The children's mother then reported them missing on Sunday night when they did not show up at a specific location.

Tucker and the kids were found at the Hotel Fort Des Moines on Monday morning. The kids were unharmed.

Tucker was arrested for child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Authorities say one reason why the Amber Alert was issued was due to a medical condition. They were concerned one of the toddlers did not have the medicine they needed.
