Missouri State hands Iowa an NCAA loss, Bears win 5-3

A tough task, but they didn't pull it off.

The Iowa Hawkeye Baseball team lost to Missouri State Saturday night, 5-3.

A late start, as the game began around 8:45 p.m. Iowa showed a strong start, scoring two runs in the second inning.

Blake Hickman threw three shutout innings, but the Bears got the best of him in the fourth. Blake Graham tied the game, then Missouri state took the lead an inning later - a walk and four straight singles to make it 5-2.

The Hawks had nine hits in the game overall, but ended up losing 5-3.

They return to the field today, as they play Oregon in an elimination game starting at 2 p.m.
