Iowa City's summer festivals are set to take place June 5-7 and they will require a lot of changes in bus routs, street closures parking.

Changes this year for the festival were made to increase safety, accommodate more vendors and larger crowds, and improve access to Downtown businesses and vendors.

Downtown street closures

Beginning at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4:

• Iowa Avenue, between Clinton Street and Dubuque Street

• Clinton Street, between Jefferson Street and Iowa Avenue

• Clinton Street, between Iowa Avenue and Washington Street

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4:

• Linn Street, between Washington Street and Iowa Avenue

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 4:

• Iowa Avenue, between Dubuque Street and Linn Street

• Washington Street, between Clinton Street and Linn Street

• Dubuque Street, between Washington Street and Iowa Avenue

These streets will remain closed until approximately midnight after the conclusion of the festival on Sunday.

On-street and reserved parking: On-street parking in the Downtown area will be reduced due to street closures. In addition, some on-street, ramp and lot parking will be reserved for Arts Festival vendors, artists, performers and service vehicles. Watch closely for posted signs indicating restricted parking.

Parking ramps and regulations: The Parking Division will run a normal schedule throughout the event. All parking regulations will be in effect and will be enforced. All five City parking ramps located in close proximity to Iowa Arts Festival activities -- Tower Place, Chauncey Swan, Dubuque Street, Court Street Transportation Center and Old Capitol Town Center -- will operate normally, with regular hours and parking rates.
