Cold front tracks in, scattered showers today

A cold front has tracked across the area and chilly air is tracking in behind it.

A few scattered showers are possible this morning. Most of the area will remain dry with a mostly cloudy, breezy day in the forecast. Temperatures this afternoon will be in the 50s to 60s across Iowa with many locations seeing falling temperatures throughout the day. Winds will be from the north to northeast around 20 mph. It will feel like 40s to 50s today due to the winds and clouds.

Drier air will work in late tonight and will start to clear clouds in our northern counties. Skies will continue to clear overnight from a north to south direction. Lows tonight will drop into the 40s with some locations see lows in the upper 30s. Plants sensitive to cold should be covered or taken inside tonight.

Mostly sunny for Sunday with highs in the 60s and an east wind up to 15 mph. A few systems out west will increase cloud cover here in the state Sunday night into Monday.
