WILLIAMSBURG (KWWL) -

William M. Miller, author of "Eugene Ely: Daredevil Aviator," is presenting a talk about Iowa-born aviator Eugene Ely at the Williamsburg Public Library on June 2 at 7 p.m.

He will also be at the Davenport Public Library on June 4 at noon.

Born just a few miles east of Williamsburg, Eugene Ely flew in his hometown of Davenport in October 1911, a few weeks before he crashed and died at age 24.

Miller's book is the first to tell the life story of this pioneer aviator, the first man to land an airplane on a ship and takeoff again.

The book will be available for purchase and signing at the presentation.
